HQ Thoughts: "This movie is all mental, so don't expect too much of a gory story line. The directors have made it possible for the viewer to creep into the mind frame of a severely damaged woman, apparently by the hands of her now deceased father.

The main question of the film is whether or not her father's ghost has come back to continue wreaking havoc on her or is she clearly a sadistic drug addict reliving her horrible past on her own? Everything in her path crumbles as she witnesses more and more ghostly figures and violent entities.

I love a dark, cerebral film that keeps you guessing and Lovely Molly doesn't fall short with the questions throughout the film and at the end. Are her attacks hallucinations, as it is associated with psychosis  and schizophrenia or is her dead tormenter on her back- again?

My only wonder is why she took the house in the first place, this film takes me places I wasn't ready to go and Gretchen Lodge gave a more than impressive performance as a very disturbed Molly, KUDOS!. It's a good watch!"

HQ Thoughts: "NOT BAD! Of course, without following up with the concept of Quarantine and the unrelenting ending- 1 could only wonder where could they go from here? Well, to an airport apparently and it's pretty entertaining considering it's fast paced action.

Man gets bit, man gets sick.... Man is on plane so there is really nowhere to go but up.... uhhh. Yea. The flight attendants have the daunting task to make sure that everyone is accounted for until things got really bad and the man (who is portrayed as morbidly obese) is extremely difficult to manage.

With the amount of actors in the movie, you can pretty much prepare yourself for folks to get knocked off 1 by 1. That is the obvious premise because the story has been told before, so no need to wonder "how did this happen?"... 

O yea, they do include a cute piece of dialogue that does implicate 1 of the characters' connection with the first film but again, can not be elaborated on- just see if you can catch it. Enjoyable for a night watch."

HQ Thoughts: "As tribute to the Ju-On brand created by Takashi Shimizu, this 1-hr short is the scarier of 2 stories meant to intertwine and come full circle.

As we all know, all Ju-On's are based on grudges that manages to creep back and get it's revenge. This is the story of the Woman in White, it's based on a young woman named Akane who is baffled by the consistent sightings of a little girl who has on the same gear as she did when she was younger.

Starting out in an unnerving fashion (for me at least), the story is super complex for a short; incorporating several different people in the town by showing their (albeit, very minor) connection with the overall concept and the family involved. 

Akane starts to assess the impact that these visions have on her and realizes that the little girl is a very, very familiar figure from her past, as each member of the family manages to have a connection with everyone in some fashion.

I enjoyed this immensely, honest scares, very dark and creepy. I like the idea, always did. Loved this."

HQ Thoughts: "If any justice can be done to a Stephen King short- this would be it. Took me a while to watch it because I'm simply not that interested in the American mainstream horror film but on a boring weekend night, I managed to watch it and was quite surprised!

Mike is a paranormal investigator who makes a living going out and finding some way to debunk peoples' ghost experiences until he is given a task to go and stay in the Dolphin hotel in NYC over night. He was specifically told to stay in a room 1408- where apparently people kill themselves before seeing the light of day. Seems easy enough until after he settles in.

The set-up is one room for a majority of the film which is true Stephen King claustrophobia style. Mike starts to feel the effects of this solitary experience and tries to curb his clearly growing anxiety with alcohol and a little TV. Gradually, things start to get really screwed up and he is faced with so many of his own demons that he starts to lose it.

This movie takes you there and back- literally. Check it out- keeps you guessing until the end. "

HQ Thoughts: "OK, now this is what I call a heart pounding, effective zombie film. Produced in Spain, the graphics and make-up effects are excellent.

This film is the 2nd installment to the film ([REC]) that inspired the American-jacked 'Quarantine' film, which is the exact same, shot by shot, so no need to blog it- you've probably already watched it. This follow-up is even better and more fulfilling than the first anyways.

It starts off EXACTLY where it ended; girl screaming, getting pulled into the darkness and SWAT coming to check what has come of this once thriving apartment building. The only difference here is that the director had room for originality and you get the full back story and a nasty ass view of the infected. 

No one is off limits in the film. A breath of fresh air for zombie fans like myself and not to mention 3 is out and 4 is on the way... I will be watching."
