HQ Thoughts: "Ichi The Killer' Based on a manga that broke barriers in the genre, "Ichi The Killer: Episode Zero"- this featured film bought the same ideas of madness, psychological deviance and sadism from the cartoon to live person film without missing a beat!!! This gore fest is a must have for any horror fan collection and I'm sure you'd watch it frequently.
Now, the matter at hand. Kakihara; a pain-craving Yakuza underboss that is looking for his run-away Boss. Ichi on the other hand is a sexually repressed (as mentioned above), quirky young man who is out to execute a couple orders of his own under the watch of a few cohorts. Between the gore scenes, death, rape and countless other atrocities that seem to be a theme within Miike's films, (oh yea, and excessive lactation... ...) "Ichi The Killer" is one hell of a film. Enjoyable if you can stomach through it. I absolutely adore.

Irreversible: Time Awareness, Something SO Precious:

HQ Thoughts: This film takes you backwards through horrible events that take place within a day. An unlucky woman carries on as usual while destiny awaits her with bad consequences. Irreversible is TRULY a visual masterpiece making you take in every aspect of the film as it is necessary to appreciate the ending. The ending, in all honesty, is actually the beginning that will shock you dearly. Some may find it disturbing, especially the long and especially brutal rape scene which stamps this film with the title "Horror"! I only watched it once, it is forever ingrained in my memory, the turn of events are just... *sigh*

SNUFF: Killing on Camera (A Documentary) is THE Sickest Ever:

"Feature film examining the existence of films in which people are murdered on camera and the culture surrounding them. Through interviews with former FBI Profilers, Cultural Academics, and Film Historians the documentary delves into the disturbing history and myth of Snuff Films. The FBI claims there is no evidence to prove the existence of Snuff and, therefore, Snuff Films are a myth. This documentary analyzes the relationships between war, cult films, serial killers and pornography to prove whether or not this pervasive myth is, in fact, reality." ~ Snuff: A Documentary About Killing on Camera- (2008)



HQ Thoughts: The scope of this film was beyond what I expected going into it. It is a commentary filled documentary with extremely compelling facts (and visuals) to back up it's initial question: "Does Snuff Films exist?".
After a little over an hour of details, recounts, and video clips of viral death including, but not limited to; visual of war, snuff porn, animal cruelty, along with several other atrocities, this film goes as far as making the watcher wonder what compels the human species to indulge in such a horrific yet seemingly fascinating culture. Could it be considered a 'subconscious addiction to depravity?'
What makes a person commit and more disgustingly ENJOY the acts just committed. I was left with a tons of thoughts and knew this had to be featured on my blog!

HQ Thoughts: Never has there been a movie as such involving women. Violent, brutal and simply vicious.. Society has always had a thing for 'protecting' pregnant women, and if you are 1 of those sensitive folks.. This movie is not for you. It exhibits a woman's thirst for vengeance on top of her ever dying want for a child. Watch and take it for what it's worth- you won't get the visuals of this flick out of your mind for a while.

HQ Thoughts: This movie is A-MAZ-ING!!! I got a tip from a friend on another website about how the plot-twist of this film would make my brain do some work. Marie trying desperately to save her BEST friend Alex from a demon, a monster, someone who has decided to pass through and wreak havoc on Alex and her family! It's a random, extremely violent act that leaves you automatically feeling HORRIBLE for poor Alex. I'm not easily moved by gore and monsters but this film made my TOP 5 Psychological Thriller/Gorefest. It BEGINS and ENDS off with mindbending sequences!!!

When they park in a rest stop in a police station, Sheriff Carver is informed about the missing teenagers. The bus driver heads to their destination with the guards and the prisoners but a tow truck driven by Three Finger hits the bus that falls off the road. They are attacked by Three Finger and the perilous Carlo Chavez dominates the guards and the other prisoners. HQ Thoughts: The only thing I could say about this film is how AWESOME the killings are in this 1!!! It's a film where acting is irrelevant because you know damn near everyone is going to get murdered in some wonderous (lol) way, and boy did they? Typical, breakdown in wooded area where a pack of heathens managed to live off of lost humans for decades. Now it's down to 2 of the sadistic family members and they give a good fight!

HQ Thoughts: When I first saw this movie I did NOT know what to expect. There is high action completely throughout this film, needless to say an ending that is beyond this world. I made sure to watch it twice just to verify what I had seen wasn't a figment of my imagination. Very well thought out and original. Friends have seen it with a look of awe on their faces and some drool hanging from their lip... Directorial is awesome and the story line is non-stop entertainment.
