HQ Thoughts: "Uzumaki is often referred to as Spiral or Vortex and is the movie form of a 20 chapter manga by the same name. Truly creepy and an awesome adaptation of what is 1 of the wildest manga I've read in a while! So I was surprised to know that they even attempted to make a film out that 'twisted' piece of work.
A small town in Tokyo is tormented by an influx of spirals, everywhere! Kirie watches as her classmates, parents, boyfriend and others turn into snails, die horrible deaths and commit suicide as the obsession of the vortex spreads like wild fire to everyone in the vicinity.
The concept and cinematography is SUPERB! It's seriously like bringing the essence of a horror comic to life, well done. I would even consider this be another dark comedy with yucky OMG moments. This is a great film that keeps you wondering why and what the hell, completely different from anything you've seen before with no shorts on gore and surprising moments."
